Mark the enemy with the first skill, follow up with the third skill, use the second skill to mark the enemy again, and then use the third skill to deal damage.
Luna Skills and Abilities
Moonlight Dance (Passive): Luna’s first normal attack on a new target will charge at the enemy; Luna’s third normal attack will deal an additional 150 (+35% magic power) magic damage and mark the enemy, but it cannot mark turrets. Luna gains 0.03% attack speed for every point of magic attack.
Cooldown: 0s Cost: 0
Tips: This is one of Luna’s main sources of AOE damage in team fights, importantly, it allows for marking to refresh the ultimate’s CD, making her skill combo more versatile.
Crescent Slice (Skill 01): Luna swings a moonlight wave in the specified direction, dealing 350/430/510/590/670/750 (+51% magic power) magic damage and marking the enemy.
Cooldown: 5s Cost: 50
Tips: Its main function is marking to refresh the ultimate’s CD. It also has a decent casting range, making it great for poking in lane.
Searing Stab (Skill 02): Luna drives her sword into the ground, pulling nearby enemies towards her, dealing 120/135/150/165/180/195 (+31% magic power) magic damage and stunning them for 0.5 seconds, while also gaining a shield that absorbs 400/470/540/610/680/750 (+80% magic power) damage and reducing her movement speed by 50% for 2 seconds; it also marks the pulled enemies.
Cooldown: 8s Cost: 50
Tips: This skill can control enemies within range, synergize with teammates for catches, and deal more damage during the stun duration with her passive.
New Moon (Ultimate) Luna charges in the specified direction, dealing 400/525/650 (+60% magic power) magic damage to enemies in her path; if Luna hits a marked enemy, it will refresh the cooldown of New Moon Assault.
Cooldown: 25/20/15s Cost: 70
Tips: Luna’s ultimate is her most important skill. With the ability to reset its CD with the first skill and passive, skillfully using marks can allow for continuous use of her ultimate for dashes and output in a team fight.
Luna Best Partner
- Zhuang Zi: Luna is vulnerable to hard control heroes like Zhang Liang, Daji, and Dharma. Zhuang Zhou’s ultimate can provide Luna with a good environment to ensure at least one combo of skills. The slow effect of his first skill and the speed boost of his second can help Luna chase and escape better, while his ultimate’s immunity can increase Luna’s survivability.
- Sun Bin: Sun Bin’s first skill’s slow can help Luna chase enemies better, his second skill’s cooldown recovery can refresh Luna’s skill CD, allowing for quick recovery even if her ultimate is interrupted, and his ultimate’s silence can synergize with Luna’s engagement, preventing instant focus down by enemies.
Luna Counter
- Luna fears being controlled and killed instantly. Zhang Liang’s long-duration control can allow teammates to kill her.
- Zhong Kui can pull Luna back before a team fight and instantly kill her.
Usage Tips:
A perfect start for Luna involves storing a “Moonlight Dance” charge, using “Crescent Slash” then immediately following with “New Moon Assault” to clear the mark, using a normal attack right after the dash to apply a previously stored “Moonlight Dance” mark, and using “New Moon Assault” again. When the enemy tries to flee with half health, immediately use “Scorching Sword Flare” to pull the enemy back and continue with normal attacks and “New Moon Assault” to clear marks and apply “Moonlight Dance” marks again, finishing with continuous “New Moon Assault” for the kill.
Luna has little fighting capability before level 4, take advantage of this by ganking her early to delay her development; Save control skills for when Luna engages to instantly kill her.
Team Fight Strategy
Gameplay Techniques
Detail 1: Quickly reach level 4 to exploit advantages.
Detail 2: Mark enemies to refresh the third skill for output.
Luna’s output in team fights relies on using her ultimate. She can look for opportunities to dive into the enemy backline with skill combos for kills or find a chance to enter the fight directly using her second skill to control a group of enemies, creating a suitable output environment for teammates. Note that if she uses her ultimate to escape or if the ultimate’s refresh fails, Luna will face a skill cooldown period of over 20 seconds, so choose wisely.
